Were you disappointed with a lack of 5 Things recently? Wholehearted apology from me. School half term and a busy period of client work have kept me away.

But it’s back! And sending this out on a Tuesday, just for lols. Did you know the open rate is averaging well over 50%? I am very grateful for you taking the time to open and read.

The ‘insight multiplier’ effect

The wait what who?! The return on investment for research & insight is notoriously hard to prove. Sometimes you’re influencing a decision to do something (or not do something), often it’s intangible. So this is my - theoretical - take on how customer insight can massively impact your bottom line.

54% of founders experience burnout

A shocking statistic and also a really important one, collected via Sifted’s recent survey. In fact, only 6% of founders said they had no mental health issues in the last 12 months.

Survey question writing tips

Some basic yet fundamental ways to ensure your survey questions are going to be good and help you collect useful data. Remember the acronym EASE (and remember what it stands for too!). Read my post for more info.

Startup school: Google on gen AI

I can’t vouch for this course - and the extent to which they will plug Gemini (they’re plugging it a lot!) - but Google’s startup school course on gen AI looks interesting. I’ve signed up and can let you know how I get on.
